This time, we talk about a little weapon in Ulag Zone, that I used for more low frequencies tzunami!
It is...the Phonic T8300 valve enhancer!
This 2 rack unit is quite rare, VERY cheap but sounds great (if you need extreme solutions).
We add a 3th track to the others mic lines....and the hell is unleashed!

NECANDI HOMINES: bass processing

Hi Beasts!!!
Today, we talk about the processing of bass reamping!
One of my "classic" hardware, is a first series of OneQ by Joemeek.
A stardard ideation channel strip, normally in use for vocals, personally I like pair it with other preamp for a "two way mic".
The optical compressor is, really, not sufficient, but a eq stage very clear, the "iron" button (input transformer) and the EXTREMELY low-noise signal processing, make it an efficient "work machine".
GOOD!

P.S. In this case...we have a "special guest" eheheheh
Who knows what it is?

ULAG ZONE ASSAULT: Marco Vitali crunch recording

Hi Beasts!!!
The tentacular MarcoV begin his development of "Ulag Zone Assault" called "A-53".
The first recordings are for the...CRUNCH?!?!?!?!
Hellyeah, totally insane Fusion/Extreme Metal!!!
So, for this sound research, we used 2 weapons.
First of all, a MXR Super Comp, with criminal setting, for a smash "dynamic" (ehmn...).
Number two, a little surprise.
A prototype developed by the great Federico "Ferro" Ferretti from Dark Wave Recording Studios in collaboration with my Ulag Zone.
This is a (over)boost, a part of a more complex EXTREME idea.

For this case, we have a "abrasive" crunch/overdrive..with dissonance!

Hi beasts!!!
After the pedalboard, this time we look to the cabinet and mics!
ABSOLUTELY a no-usual technique.
The signal go to the head first, my "jolly" Hughes & Kettner Tour Reverb.
So, in the Blackstar 4x8 HT Metal...a guitar cabinet ehehehe
On front, 2 mics: AKG D112 (a classic) and Audio Technica AE3000, a real MONSTER!
This is the first step to the original sound for Necandi Homines.
Still continues...ehehehehe

After the guitars sessions, it's time to reamp...BASS!!!
Beginning from the Oxide pedalboard: 
-EBS Valve Drive preamp for the clean section.
-EBS Multicomp+ Big Muff (made by Oxide himself) for the distortion section.

In additional: Planet Waves tuner, a monster artigianal valve delay, a "Lucky Strike" split...made by Oxide (!!!), and in the end of the signal chain, the awesome Mr.Black Supermoon!

We need an abyssal sound...and we have found it!!!

NECANDI HOMINES: Reamping guitars part III

Hi beasts!!!
Welcome back in the last "tips&reamp" for Necandi Homines guitars!
For a mic, we need a preamp!
And, of course, in Ulag Zone, the monster boss is: Presonus ADL700.
Larger than Death, with a excellent eq stage.
For this mix, the guys need a fat and savage sound.
If you can see the eq stage and the compressor...yes, it's a "little bit" aggressive use!
But we are in Ulag Zone and the extreme is the everyday life ahahahah (ok...too yobster ahahahahahaha).

NECANDI HOMINES: Reamping

Hi Beasts!!!
Today, I talk about the guitars reamp for the mixtering of the insane Necandi Homines.
We need for this time, a "organic", bastard sound, but with the deep low end necessary for a release of this type!
After seeing the pedal board where born the sound, now a look to the mics!
All the sound is put in a old Hughes & Kettner Tour Reverb (with a DBX 131 in S/R).
After this step, all come out by a Marshall 1936 (back in '90) 2x12 and I use a two way mic with a Rode NT-2000 (strange choise for guitars, ah? )and a Audio Technica AE3000 (THE MONSTER).
And the preamps?

NECANDI HOMINES: starting the mixtering!

Hi Beasts!!!
In Ulag Zone, the work never end ahahahha
Here we go with a new mixtering, for our great clients NECANDI HOMINES, Hypnotic Black Metal.
Starting with the guitars reamp!
Well, we used a MONSTROUS pedal board!
The distortion sound comes from a Walrus Iron Horse (boost) in a Boss ML-2 Metal Core.
Fucking damn FAT and abrasive!!!
You will hear this!!!
Effect line by a Boss DD20 Giga Delay (incredible what it can do...), a Electro Harmonix Electric Mistress (flanger very interesting when it is used in aggressive mode) and, in the end of chain, the AWESOME Supermoon Mr. Black, a insane reverb...and normally i hate the pedal reverb!!!
All powered by a Dunlop DC-Brick!

This is only the begin of a over 30 minutes of abyssal sound....
