Salve Bestie!
Dopo due cazzo di anni, finalmente riesco a mettere mano alla parte finale di Ulag Zone Assault.
Una compilation fest che sarebbe dovuta durare qualche mese, ne è uscita fuori una battaglia di oltre tre anni!!!
La pandemia ha strafottuto tutto, ed il secondo blocco ne è rimasto impantanato...e mutilato!
Il primo pezzo, oramai fuori da qualche giorno, è RETALIATION, dove io stesso ho espletato i compiti di capitano, oltre che chitarrista e bassista.
Dovevano esserci un mio amico americano grinder, un altro solista ed un bassista....purtroppo gli impegni in questi due anni catastrofici, hanno deciso altrimenti.
Ho avuto comunque la fortuna ed il grandissimo ONORE di avere a bordo dei veri pesi massimi.
Alla voce, il mio compagno di scorribande Funeral Doom negli In Lacrimaes Et Dolor (oltre che ad avere i Sid, Oväsen Frontera Kollaps, Acidort Crew e songwriter dei Phantasos), uno dei growler più micidiali di tutta la scena italiana, chiacchiere a zero!!!
Alla chitarra solista, è giunto in mio soccorso il mitico Clemente Cattalani direttamente dagli Sleazer.
Chitarrista solista che di certo non necessita di presentazioni, ha interpretato perfettamente quello che avevo in mente!
A livello sonoro/attitudinale, per paradosso è stato molto istintivo, con ben pochi fronzoli ed esecuzione "in your face".
Death Metal monolitico che molto deve come influenze, ai lavori di un certo Lemay (senza arrivare minimamente alla sua raffinatezza...ehehehe)
Da segnalare il dilaniante suono di chitarra ritmica realizzato con il fidato Wampler Triple Wreck, il basso è un insano mix di V-Amp e Aguilar Tone Hammer in preamplificazione ed un misto impulsi e cabinet per vomitare quel suono davvero slabbrato e fangoso (si, sono dei complimenti in questo caso!!!).
Per la batteria, oltre ad un set stranamente scarno per il nostro Ruglud, da segnalare un rullante Phonika custom 14x5.5 mogano/iroko.
Ovviamente, per chiudere, i due ospiti speciali hanno ovviato loro stessi alle recording del loro strumento, per poi essere processati qui in Ulag Zone.

After two fucking years, I can finally get my hands on the final part of Ulag Zone Assault.
The pandemic has screwed everything up, and the second block has been bogged down ... and mutilated!
The first piece, now out for a few days, is RETALIATION, where I myself have fulfilled the duties of captain, as well as guitarist and bassist.
There had to be an American grinder friend of mine, another lead guitarist, and another bass player .... unfortunately the commitments in these two catastrophic years have decided otherwise.
However, I had the luck and the great HONOR to have on board some real heavyweights.
On vocals, my companion of funeral doom raids in In Lacrimaes Et Dolor (as well as having Sid, Oväsen Frontera Kollaps, Acidort Crew, and Phantasos songwriter), one of the deadliest growlers of the whole Italian scene!!!
On the solo guitar, the mighty Clemente Cattalani came to my rescue directly from the Sleazer.
Solo guitarist who certainly needs no introduction, he perfectly interpreted what I had in mind!
In terms of sound/aptitude, paradoxically it was very instinctive, with very few frills and "in your face" execution.
Monolithic Death Metal owes a lot of influence to the work of a gentleman called Lemay (without reaching its refinement in the slightest ... ehehehe).
Of note is the rending rhythm guitar sound made with the deadly Wampler Triple Wreck, the bass is an insane mix of V-Amp and Aguilar Tone Hammer in preamp and a mix of impulses and cabinets to throw up that really jagged and muddy sound (yes, they are compliments in this case!!!).
For the drums, in addition to a strangely sparse set for our Ruglud, we should mention a Phonika custom 14x5.5 mahogany/iroko snare drum.
Obviously, to close, the two special guests took care of the recordings of their instruments themselves, only to be processed here in the Ulag Zone.
What can I say, get this sledgehammer on the teeth!
